Thank you for your interest and use of the EdgeOne Free Plan. To optimize our service architecture and deliver a more sustainable, high-quality experience, we will adjust the "Origin Protection" feature in the Free Plan. This feature allows you to obtain EdgeOne back-to-origin IP segments and configure them in your origin server’s firewall allowlist. If your origin server has no firewall or no configured firewall policies, this adjustment will not affect your business. Additionally, EdgeOne core secure acceleration capabilities remain unaffected and will continue to be provided free of charge.
I. Key Adjustments
1.New Free Plan users will no longer be able to enable the "Origin Protection" feature.
2.For existing Free Plan users who have enabled "Origin Protection", the feature will be gradually phased out starting November 14, 2025.
II. Impact Analysis
● If your origin server has no firewall or does not use this feature : This change will not affect your business . EdgeOne core secure acceleration services will continue to operate normally.
● If your origin server has configured firewall rules : After the feature is disabled, we will no longer provide fixed back-to-origin IP segments. To avoid potential business disruptions due to future changes in back-to-origin IPs, please adjust your origin server firewall policies in advance .
III. Action Guide
To ensure uninterrupted business operations, we recommend:
1.Check your origin server : Confirm whether your origin server has a firewall configured and whether EdgeOne back-to-origin IP allowlist rules are already in place.
2. Take action : If configured, adjust your policies before November 14, 2025 based on your origin environment (e.g., cloud server security groups, software firewalls).
