To facilitate your selection of updated database versions during instance creation, Tencent Cloud plans to update the default values for APIs related to TencentDB for MySQL instance creation. Details are as follows.

Involved API: CreateDBInstance, CreateDBInstanceHour.
Involved Parameter: EngineVersion.
Parameter Description (Before Update):
MySQL version. Values: 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, and 8.0.
1. When you create an instance with an architecture other than Cluster Edition, specify the database version as needed (recommended: 5.7 or 8.0). If this parameter is not specified, the default value will be 5.6.
2. When you create an instance with the Cluster Edition architecture, this parameter is required and can be set only to 5.7 or 8.0.
