Customer Introduction
Biodoc is a Brazilian health tech company specializing in healthcare service authorization through facial recognition and artificial intelligence. The company’s mission is to enhance security, agility, and trust in patient validation processes — reducing fraud while optimizing the experience for clinics, hospitals, and healthcare operators.
Challenges & Goals
With the rapid growth of its customer base, Biodoc needed to ensure availability, performance, and scalability in its healthcare data processing and facial recognition services. To support this expansion, Biodoc sought a robust and reliable cloud infrastructure and decided to adopt Tencent Cloud, initiating a multi-cloud strategy that would integrate seamlessly with its existing AWS setup.
Before adopting Tencent Cloud, Biodoc’s architecture was fully hosted on AWS, utilizing ECS, RDS, MongoDB, S3, SQS, and CloudWatch. While stable, this setup faced growing constraints and challenges including:
Why Tencent Cloud
With Tencent Cloud, Biodoc built a modernized architecture centered on Kubernetes (TKE) for efficient container management, leveraging GPU resources to optimize facial recognition models and AI workloads. The new environment includes production and sandbox deployments on Tencent Cloud, PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases for scalable data management, and messaging services enabling real-time processing. This solution provided a resilient multi-cloud strategy that enhanced performance, elasticity, and cost efficiency. Additionally, Biodoc adopted Tencent Cloud’s eKYC services, utilizing 1:1 and 1:N liveness APIs to strengthen identity verification and elevate its core healthcare authentication services.
Highlighted Benefits
By migrating to Tencent Cloud, Biodoc achieved 30% lower infrastructure costs compared to its previous setup, while gaining greater scalability and processing power to support AI and facial recognition workloads. The multi-cloud architecture enhanced resilience, ensuring business continuity and flexibility, while improved elasticity and reliability provided a stable foundation for real-time healthcare authentication services.
