During live streaming, if you wish to overlay L-shaped graphics, Picture-in-Picture, or U-shaped graphics on the live stream to display advertising information, you can use the following configuration:
1. In StreamLive > Asset > Graphic Overlay, set parameters for overlay graphics based on business needs and save as a configuration template.
2. Refer to Plan management, configure the Event Type as Ad Break in StreamLive > Channel > Plan. Subsequently when channel is in running state, at the specified execution time of this Ad Break Event, the system will overlay graphics on the live stream.
Among the Ad Break Event setting, you can fill in configuration information one by one.
You can also click Copy Configuration to directly reuse the parameter template saved in procedure 1.
3. Advertising information displayed through overlay graphics can be fixed ads or personalized ads for different users.
All audiences see identical fixed advertising materials: In Ad Break settings, select Upload Creatives for Ad Source and upload the image url of the advertising materials.
Audiences with different features see personalized ad materials: In Ad Break Setting, select External ADS for Ad Source. In addition, to retrieve personalized ad from ADS, you need to refer to StreamPackage Advertising Insertion, fill in the live channel info at Content Source, and enter the external ADS access address at Ad Decision Server.
This document focuses on introducing procedure 1, which explains how to configure parameters based on business needs and save them as a template for direct reuse when creating an Ad Break Event in procedure 2 Plan Management.

View Configuration Template

Enter the StreamLive Console > Asset > Graphic Overlay. On the page, you can view saved configuration templates, including template name, format, ad source type, creation time, and last modified time.

Creating a Configuration Template

To create a new configuration template, click the Create Template button on the Graphic Overlay page to enter the configuration page.

Configuration Item
Description
Template Name
The template name supports up to 16 characters, including letters, digits, and underscores. Please ensure the uniqueness of the template name in the same region.
Format
The format currently only supports L-shape; Picture-in-Picture and U-shape will be supported subsequently.
Ad Source
Upload Creatives: Upload fixed ad creatives.
External ADS: To obtain personalized ad creatives from external ADS. (Under development)
Position
Set the position for the L-Bar Ad.
Bottom-Left: L-Bar ads are displayed in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Bottom-Right: L-Bar ads are displayed in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Top-Left: L-Bar ads are displayed in the top-left corner of the screen.
Top-Right: L-Bar ads are displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.
Offset
Left Offset: When the position is set to Bottom-Left or Top-Left, for the squeezed source stream, you need to specify the offset between the left edge of the source stream and the left edge of the overall frame, represented as a percentage of the total frame width.
Bottom Offset: When the position is set to Bottom-Left or Bottom-Right, for the squeezed source stream, you need to specify the offset between the bottom of the source stream and the bottom of the overall frame, represented as a percentage of the total frame height.
Right Offset: When the position is set to Bottom-Right or Top-Right, for the squeezed source stream, you need to specify the offset between the right edge of the source stream and the right edge of the overall frame, represented as a percentage of the total frame width.
Top Offset: When the position is set to Top-Left or Top-Right, for the squeezed source stream, you need to specify the offset between the top of the source stream and the top of the overall frame, represented as a percentage of the total frame height.
Duration
Duration is the total time (in seconds) during which the advertisement is displayed. It starts when the Squeeze In action begins (the source video starts to shrink to make space for the ad) and ends when the Squeeze Out action finishes (the source video returns to its original size after the ad).
Squeeze Period
Squeeze In Period: The Squeeze In Period is the duration (in milliseconds) during which the source video content is gradually resized (squeezed) from its original dimensions to a designated area of the frame, creating space for the advertisement to appear alongside the source content. The Squeeze In Period must be shorter than the Duration.
Squeeze Out Period: The Squeeze Out Period is the duration (in milliseconds) during which the source video content transitions back from the compressed (squeezed) area to its original size. The Squeeze Out Period must be shorter than the Duration.
Effect Preview
Based on your configured parameters, select the screen resolution, click Start Preview, and the preview effect will be shown on the screen.
If the effect behaves as expected, you can click Confirm to save the settings. This way, when setting up an Ad Break Event in StreamLive > Channel > Plan, you can click Copy Configuration to directly reuse the saved parameter template.

Editing a Configuration Template

Select the configuration template to edit, then click the Edit button in Operation to re-edit the template.

Deleting a Configuration Template

Select the configuration to delete in the list of configurations, then click the Delete button in Operation to delete it.
