This document introduces the preparatory tasks needed before getting started with TDMQ for Apache Pulsar, including creating an account, obtaining permissions, and preparing Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) resources.
Operation Steps
1. Create a Tencent Cloud account and complete identity verification.
If you already have a Tencent Cloud account and have completed identity verification, skip this step.
2. Top up your account.
Before you create a Pulsar cluster, make sure that your account has sufficient funds to cover the cost of purchasing the cluster. For specific steps on account top-up, see Online Top-up. If your account already has sufficient funds, skip this step.
3. Configure operation permissions on TDMQ for Apache Pulsar resources for the account.
If you are using a Tencent Cloud sub-account, grant operation permissions on Pulsar clusters to the sub-account. For more information, see Account Permission Overview. If you are using a Tencent Cloud root account, which has full permissions to all resources by default, you can skip this step.
4. Create a VPC and subnet.
Before you create a Pulsar cluster, make sure that an available VPC and subnet exist. For specific steps to create a VPC and subnet, see Creating a VPC and Subnet. The created VPC and Pulsar cluster must be located in the same region, as cloud products in different regions are completely isolated from each other on the private network. If you already have a suitable VPC and subnet, you can skip this step.
5. Prepare Linux servers and configure the environment.
5.1 Prepare Linux servers: This document uses Tencent Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM) as an example. For specific steps to create a CVM, see Purchasing a CVM. Make sure that the CVM and Pulsar cluster are in the same VPC. If you already have an available CVM, you can skip this step.
