To make it more convenient for you to use RabbitMQ, Tencent Cloud has enabled the feature to convert between RabbitMQ hourly postpaid and annual and monthly subscription. For variations in billing modes, refer to Billing Overview. You can choose appropriate billing mode based on actual business needs.
Conversion Rule
Bill Description
Hourly postpaid to monthly subscription
Changing from hourly postpaid to monthly subscription mode will generate a new order. The monthly subscription mode will take effect immediately after completing the order payment.
Assuming a user purchased an hourly postpaid cluster at 2025/06/28 14:30:15 and converted the billing mode to monthly subscription at 2025/06/28 15:50:15, paying for one month of cluster fees. After the user completes the Payment Order, the monthly subscribed clusters will take effect immediately. Three bill information entries will be generated on the "Expense Center > Detailed Bill" webpage:
Hourly postpaid: 2025/06/28 14:00:00 ~ 2025/06/28 15:00:00, generated costs between 14:30:15 ~ 15:00:00.
Hourly postpaid: 2025/06/28 15:00:00 ~ 2025/06/28 16:00:00, generated costs between 15:00:00 ~ 15:50:15.
Monthly subscription: 2025/06/28 15:50:15 ~ 2025/07/28 15:50:15
Monthly subscription to hourly postpaid
When changing from the annual and monthly billing mode to hourly postpaid, the system will convert according to the resource usage duration and refund the fee for the unused duration. For specific refund rules, refer to Refunds. After the refund, the hourly postpaid mode will take effect immediately.
Switching Limitation
Currently, only open-source managed clusters support switching the billing mode.
Clusters switching from hourly postpaid to monthly subscription do not support unconditional refund within five days.
After a successful transition of billing method, the cluster will be billed in the new mode quickly, with the new cluster's start time being the conversion successful time.
After the cluster billing mode conversion, the public network bandwidth will automatically convert its billing mode.
Prerequisites
Only clusters in the "running" state support billing mode conversion. Clusters in the "delivering/reconfiguring/isolated/abnormal" state do not support modifying the billing mode.
When converting from annual/monthly subscription to hourly postpaid, if your current account balance is insufficient and you do not have the unlimited service privilege despite arrears, the cluster will enter isolated state after 24 hours upon conversion. Please ensure sufficient balance before conversion.
Operation Steps
1. Log in to the TDMQ for RabbitMQ console.
2. In the left sidebar, click Cluster Management > Cluster List. After selecting a region, click More > Convert to Monthly Subscription in the operation column of the target cluster.
3. In the pop-up hourly pay-as-you-go to monthly subscription window, set the renewal duration and whether it is automatically renewed based on your actual requirements.
4. Select Read and agree to the billing mode conversion rules, and click Confirm.
5. Follow the on-page instructions to complete payment and transition.
