TDMQ for RabbitMQ is compatible with the AMQP 0-9-1 protocol as well as all components and concepts of open-source RabbitMQ. Building upon the open-source version, TDMQ for RabbitMQ continuously iterates features, fixes bugs, and addresses stability risks. While maintaining full protocol compatibility, it is deeply optimized for applicable scenarios of enterprises, providing users with a more stable and reliable message service experience.
This document introduces the open-source version support mechanism of TDMQ for RabbitMQ, including supported versions, lifecycle instructions, selection recommendations, and version upgrade instructions.

Version Number Description

RabbitMQ versions are expressed in the format of RabbitMQ x.y.z. Specifically,
x indicates the major version: major updates, which may include incompatible API changes.
y indicates the minor version: providing new features while maintaining backward compatibility.
z indicates patched version: bug fixes or minor optimizations, with no new features introduced.

Open-Source Version Support Description

Versions supported by TDMQ for RabbitMQ Managed Edition: 3.8.35, 3.11.8, and 3.13.7.
Versions supported by TDMQ for RabbitMQ Serverless Edition: compatible with the AMQP 0-9-1 protocol and the open-source RabbitMQ client.

Version Lifecycles Description

TDMQ for RabbitMQ is a code branch independently maintained by Tencent Cloud, and it is fully compatible with all components and concepts of open-source RabbitMQ. It also offers underlying strengths such as compute-storage separation and flexible scaling. The lifecycles of all its versions are maintained and managed independently by the Tencent Cloud message queue team and are not limited by the open-source community lifecycles.

Version Selection Recommendations

Unless you have special business requirements, it is recommended to select the latest mirror version of Serverless Edition or Managed Edition during cluster purchase. For details on the differences between the two versions, see Description of Differences Between Managed Edition and Serverless Edition.

Version Upgrade Instructions

Direct cross-version upgrade is not supported currently. You can migrate your business from an earlier version cluster to a later version cluster through cluster migration.
