Adding a Database
After logging in to Database Management Center (DMC) Enterprise Edition, enterprise users can connect different types of databases to DMC for centralized management, improving data collaboration efficiency.
Supported database deployment types include locally self-built database, CVM self-built database, Tencent Cloud database, and other cloud provider databases. For a full list, see Supported Databases.
Prerequisites
A source database instance has been created.
The operation role should be a DMC administrator.
Directions
1. Log in to the DMC console.
2. In the top menu bar, click Instance List.
3. Click Add Database to configure parameter information.
Parameter | Description |
Database Type | Support MySQL and TDSQL for MySQL. For supported deployment types and versions, see Supported Databases. |
Instance Type | TencentDB instance: The source database is a Tencent Cloud database instance. After selecting, you need to configure the instance region and instance ID. Self-Built on CVM: The source database is a self-built database on CVM. After selecting, you need to configure the instance region, instance ID, and instance IP and port. Self-Built on public network: The source database is a locally self-built database or a third-party cloud vendor database. After selecting, you need to configure the instance IP address and port. |
Instance Name | Customize the name of the DMC database instance. Only numbers, uppercase and lowercase English letters, Chinese characters, and special characters such as _, -, ., /, (), and [] are supported, with a length less than 60. |
Management Standard | Select the SQL review policy for SQL Window operations. Keep default settings. Default options: MySQL Default and TDSQL for MySQL (Default). To create a policy, see Managing SQL Specifications. |
Instance DBA | Select the instance DBA role. Default selection is recommended. |
Instance Owner | Select the instance Owner role. Default selection is recommended. |
Database Username | Enter the login username for the DMC database. |
Password | Enter the password corresponding to the DMC database username. |
4. After you complete the configuration, click Test Connectivity. Once the test is successful, click Add. After addition, you can view and manage your database in the DMC console.
5. (Optional) Repeat the process to add multiple databases.

After adding the database, the DMC administrator can authorize specific database permissions to collaborative users. For details, see Grant Database Permissions to Users.
