Learn about a shared CNAME and how to set configuration.
Note:
This feature is available only when your site is connected via CNAME.
This feature is currently in beta test. If you need to use it, please contact the business personnel to enable the allowlist for use.
Description
Each domain name is assigned a CNAME record when being connected via CNAME. By configuring the assigned record at the DNS provider, users are directed to EdgeOne nodes.
When it comes to large quantities of domain names, manual effort is much needed. However, shared CNAME records can be used among multiple domain names.
Prerequisites
2. Your site has been connected via CNAME.
Sample Scenario
In this scenario, you want to connect these domain names with EdgeOne: a.example.com, b.example.com and c.example.com. After being connected, each is assigned a CNAME record to be configured separately: a.example.com.eo.dnse1.com, b.example.com.eo.dnse1.com and c.example.com.eo.dnse1.com.
To simplify the process, you can take the following steps to configure a shared CNAME (sharecname.example.com.share.eo.dnse0.com is taken as an example).
Directions
Step 1. Create a Shared CNAME
1. Log in to the Tencent Cloud EdgeOne console, enter Service Overview in the left menu bar, and click the site to be configured under Website Security Acceleration. 2. Click Domain Service > Shared CNAMEs in the left sidebar.
3. Click Add shared CNAME. Enter the CNAME prefix sharecname in the Shared CNAME field, set the Description field as needed, and click Save. Step 2. Batch set the shared CNAME
1. Click Domain Service> Domain Management in the left sidebar. Select a.example.com, b.example.com and c.example.com, and then click Batch set CNAME.
2. Select Shared CNAME for CNAME type, and sharecname.example.com.share.eo.dnse0.com created in Step 1 from the drop-down list. Click Submit configuration. 3. You should see the icon appear in the CNAME column, which indicates that the shared CNAME has been set up successfully, before going to the DNS provider to modify the CNAME record. Note:
To switch back to the assigned CNAME record without business interruptions, go to the DNS provider to change the CNAME record back to the assigned one first.
