What Is CDZ?

Tencent Cloud Dedicated Zone (CDZ) is an availability zone (AZ) deployed in a user-specified Internet Data Center (IDC) where all resources are exclusively used by the user. You can select and configure high-availability resources such as computing, storage, and its operation experience is similar to Tencent Cloud's standard AZs. CDZ offers integrated hardware and software delivery and Ops services to help you quickly build a secure and reliable dedicated cloud.

How to Get Started with CDZ?

Tencent Cloud provides the following methods to configure and manage CDZ:
CDZ console: Tencent Cloud provides the CDZ console for you to comprehensively view and manage the resource configuration and overall usage of CDZ.
Product consoles: Tencent Cloud provides independent management consoles for various cloud service products (such as Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM) and cloud databases), helping you manage the instances deployed in CDZ.
APIs: Tencent Cloud provides APIs to help you manage resources in CDZ. For details, see API Category.
Note:
Enterprises can communicate with the Tencent Cloud team about the CDZ deployment solution based on actual requirements. For more information on product technical details or architecture design cases, contact us.

Relevant Concepts

Before using CDZ, you need to understand the following concepts:
Concept
Description
Committed use
The standard billing mode of CDZ. You commit to using cloud products of the agreed capacity within the contract validity period (usually 3 to 5 years).
Fees are settled on a fixed monthly basis based on the committed capacity. If the customer needs to terminate the contract in advance, they should pay the liquidated damages or economic compensation as agreed by both parties.
Resource pack
A pre-purchased resource capacity pack. It is billed at a fixed amount agreed in the contract.
After purchasing a resource pack, when you purchase specific cloud service instances (such as CVM instances), the corresponding public cloud instance bills will be automatically deducted. After deduction, the actual payment for the corresponding cloud service instance will be USD 0, avoiding duplicate payments.
Customer's local IDC
The customer's own data center equipment room. CDZ can be delivered and deployed in the customer's local IDC, making full use of the customer's existing equipment room facilities and basic Ops capabilities.
CDZ activation
It refers to the entire process of Tencent Cloud constructing and delivering CDZ at the customer-designated location, which mainly includes basic network construction and cloud product deployment.
Resource usage level
The real-time purchase status of various resources (such as memory and disks) in CDZ can be displayed. For example, if the committed use of CVM instances is 860 cores and 80 cores have actually been purchased, the CPU utilization of the CVM instances is 10%.
