Overview

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a mechanism that enhances identity security through multiple verification factors, effectively preventing account theft, data leakage, and unauthorized access.
TCMPP provides MFA feature, supporting two methods: dynamic verification codes and email verification codes. The following sections will detail TCMPP's support for MFA, including how to enable/disable MFA, switch preferred verification methods, and bind MFA.

How to operate

Enable/disable MFA

Log in to the console as a super admin or platform admin, and go to Platform management - Security center. Click Enable MFA.
Once MFA is enabled, all users who have not bound MFA will be required to do so during login. They must complete the MFA binding before they can log in. If a user unbinds MFA after binding, they will still need to bind MFA during their next login.

MFA can be disabled after enabling, but this requires a secondary confirmation and passing the MFA verification.

Set the preferred verification method

The default MFA verification method is dynamic verification codes, but you can switch the preferred method to email verification.

Note:
To use email verification, you need to configure and enable the email service first.

Account binding to MFA

After enabling MFA, all users who have not bound MFA will be prompted to do so during login. They must complete the identity verification as instructed on the verification page.
When binding MFA, the default verification method will be the preferred method set by the super admin or platform admin. During the first binding, only one method needs to be bound.

Bind dynamic verification code

1. Select an MFA app based on your needs and follow the instructions to install it.

2. Open the MFA app and go to the home page → Click the "+" (plus button) at the top → Select “Scan QR code” and scan the QR code below.

3. Enter the first set of MFA verification code after scanning.

4. Click Submit.

Bind email

If you have completed the email service configuration and activated the email push service, you can choose to bind your email as the MFA verification method during the MFA binding process.

1. Enter your email address and click Send verification code.

2. Enter the verification code you received in your email and click Submit.
3. Once the email verification is successful, the binding is complete.
