The cloud service experience provided by Cloud Dedicated Cluster (CDC) is consistent with that of Tencent Cloud center regions. However, due to the customized deployment and on-premises deployment features, there are some differences, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Customized deployment: indicates that CDC is exclusively used by the customer. The deployed resources and services are exclusively used by a single user. For billing details, see exclusive cluster scale billing.
Exclusive cluster scale billing: Products such as Cloud Virtual Machine (CVM) and Cloud Block Storage (CBS) are charged according to the deployed cluster scale based on the exclusive cluster scale billing mode rather than the pay-as-you-go mode of the public cloud.
On-premises deployment: indicates that CDC is deployed on the customer's premises. It imposes certain limitations on the number of cloud services provided, interconnection with cloud center resources and services, and the reuse of cloud center capabilities.
Interconnection between CDC and cloud center: CDC and the cloud center are interconnected through a connection or a VPN connection. If users require communication between services in their CDC instances and those on the public cloud, they need to establish data channels using network products such as VPN. Without these data channels, cloud resources within the CDC and public cloud resources cannot directly access each other (excluding public services such as cloud DNS, NTP, and YUM, which are accessible by default). In addition to establishing data channels, attention is required to be paid to the connection/public network bandwidth and the performance limitations of related network cloud products to avoid network congestion caused by a certain node.
Cloud service category: CDC can output Tencent public cloud services to customers' IDCs. Currently, dozens of IaaS and PaaS cloud services are supported. Additionally, based on cloud control principles, most cloud service capabilities on the cloud can also be reused.
The cloud service categories provided by CDC include both services deployed in CDC and services that reuse public cloud service capabilities:
