What Is Object Storage?

COS (Cloud Object Storage) is a distributed storage service provided by Tencent Cloud for storing massive files, featuring high scalability, low cost, reliability, and security. Through diverse methods such as the console, APIs, SDKs, and tools, users can easily and quickly access COS to upload, download, and manage files in multiple formats, enabling massive data storage and management.

Object Storage in CDC Environment Has the Following Characteristics

The creation entry is the CDC independent entry and must be created within CDC clusters. For details, see creating COS.
Exclusive cluster scale billing requires pre-purchasing COS clusters. Subsequent creation of COS instances incurs no charge (only instance fees are waived; snapshots and other additional services are still charged according to public cloud billing standards. For details, see Snapshot Billing Overview).
Regions and AZs are displayed as the access-controlled AZs, while resources are actually allocated on the corresponding product service clusters within CDC clusters.
COS types only support COS cloud services that are purchased and deployed within the current cluster.

CDC Environment Special Instructions

Feature Limitations

COS on CDC runs in the user's IDC, and has certain differences in the operating environment compared to public cloud COS. Therefore, the two have slight differences in features. Compared to public cloud COS, COS on CDC currently does not support the following features:
Upload and download operations for objects are not supported on the console but are supported via SDK/API and other methods.
Public network access is not supported; only access within a VPC is allowed. Only deployment of multiple CDCs within a single VPC is supported, and sharing a COS-CDC service across multiple VPCs is not supported.
Only the Standard storage tier is supported; other storage tiers such as Infrequent Access and Archive are not supported.
WH is not supported.
Object origin pull is not supported.
Client-side encryption is not supported.
Temporary link access is not supported.
Hotlink protection and cross-origin access (CORS) settings are not supported.
Bucket replication is not supported.
Domain name transfer and management are not supported.
Features that require interoperability with other cloud products are not currently supported:
Log management is not supported.
Content moderation is not supported.
Data processing is not supported.
Data workflows are not supported.
Function compute is not supported.
CSG is not supported.
