On the knowledge base page, you can manage imported documents, Q&A, or databases together. For example, adjust document categories, tags, and expiration dates, making it easy to structure knowledge and manage its lifecycle. Configure the Q&A generation model and Schema generation model used by the knowledge base to enhance the accuracy and retrieval effect of knowledge Q&A. And view the character usage of the knowledge base in real time, helping you grasp resource usage. With knowledge base settings, you can not only flexibly maintain documents but also optimize the overall performance and business adaptability of the knowledge base.

Adjust Knowledge Base Settings

You can, based on actual business needs, click the gear button in the upper right corner of the knowledge management section in the application to enter the knowledge base settings page. There, you can adjust the recall Mechanism, search scope, and model configuration used by the default knowledge base for different types of knowledge.

Knowledge Process Model Settings

You can set the knowledge base and its knowledge process model uniformly in standard mode through the set button. The standard mode knowledge base supports setting vector model, QA pair generative model, and knowledge base Schema generative model. Go to Model Marketplace to configure a suitable model to meet needs in different business scenarios.



1. Embedding Model: The default model for knowledge base document Embedding processing. Both retrieving and importing knowledge base content use this Embedding model for vectorization processing. Tencent Cloud ADP currently only supports 1024-dimensional vectors. Once documents have been uploaded or an associated database is linked to the knowledge base, the vector model of the knowledge base cannot be changed. You can proceed to change the vector model only after the knowledge base content is cleared.
2. Document Parsing Model: Convert multiple different documents such as images and PDFs into Markdown format files, parseable content elements including tables, formulas, images, headings, paragraphs, headers, and footers, and intelligently convert content into sequential reading order.
3. Q&A Pair Generative Model: The default model for generating Q&A pairs from knowledge base documents.
4. Knowledge base Schema generative model: The default model for knowledge base Schema generation.
The Knowledge Base Settings for Single Workflow Mode and Multi-Agent Mode will be unified with standard mode in later versions.
Note:
When the knowledge base is empty or emptied, you can replace the vector model. Once the vector model is selected and knowledge is uploaded to the knowledge base, when the knowledge base content is not empty, you will be unable to change the embedding model used by this knowledge base. Proceed with caution.
In the knowledge base, the recall mechanism settings are no longer supported.
Note:
If you want to adjust the recall mechanism or search scope of the team-level knowledge base associated with the standard mode within application, please visit Application Settings > Knowledge Base Settings to make adjustments.


Retrieval Recall Settings

Support two kinds of policies: Hybrid Retrieval. and Semantic Retrieval. When the knowledge base contains Excel spreadsheet content, you can enable the Excel Retrieval Enhancement feature to enhance the query effect of table type data.
In addition, you can also choose to enable the Rerank function. After a user submits a question, the system will first retrieve document fragments in the knowledge base, then reorder the recalled clips via the reordering model, thereby finding the content that best meets the requirement for the application to generate a more fine-grained response.

File

You can adjust the number of recalled files (return the N fragments with the highest matching degree) and file retrieval accuracy. The higher the threshold, the more precise the recall results, and the relatively lower the number of fragments returned. If the threshold is lower, more fragments will be recalled, but the accuracy may drop.

Q&A

You can adjust the reply mode of the Q&A database, the number of recalls and retrieval accuracy of Q&A content, so that better balance the integrity and accuracy of the answer.

Database

You can flexibly choose whether to enable the database content retrieval mechanism. When enabled, structured data can be used as a supplementary knowledge source to enhance the integrity and authoritativeness of the answer.

Adjust Document Categories

Click the menu bar on the right of the category and create a new category. Select the document and click Move to Category to complete the adjustment.



You can also adjust document classification in the single document settings.




Adjust Document Settings

On the Knowledge Base webpage, click Settings next to a document. You can fine-tune document management as needed: modify the effective scope to adjust search range in application, set tags for easier retrieval and labeling, adjust expiration time for lifecycle management, configure whether reference sources should be displayed in answers, and modify document categories to optimize knowledge organization.




Modify File Effective Scope

You can adjust the document effective scope. Click File Settings > Effective Scope to make adjustments.
Effective scope: supports selection of "Not Effective", "Only Effective in Debug", "Only Effective in Publish", or "Effective in Debug/Publish". Select it, then the knowledge will take effect according to settings without needing to publish application.
Not Effective: unable to retrieve knowledge in both develop and release domains.
Only Effective in Debug: able to retrieve knowledge in develop domain only.
Only Effective in Publish: able to retrieve knowledge in release domain only.
Effective in Debug/Publish: able to retrieve knowledge in both develop and release domains.



Set Document Expiration Time

You can adjust a document’s expiration date. Once expired, the document cannot be used by agent applications. Options include 7 days, 30 days, or Custom. Click File Settings > Custom Expiration Time to adjust.




Show Reference Source

You can configure whether to display reference sources for individual documents in the knowledge base. This allows users to trace answers back to their source, increasing credibility. Go to Document Settings > Show Reference Source and choose how to display it:
Go to Document Preview Link: Clicking the reference will redirect to the document link stored in the system.
Go to Custom Link: Clicking the reference will redirect to an external link you configure, such as an official site or internal system.
Additionally, you can set whether to allow document downloads to provide users with full access when needed.




Batch Settings

Select multiple documents and perform actions in bulk. For example, move them to a category for structured management, or batch set operations like download, delete, adjust tags, configure expiration dates, or set reference source display. This improves management efficiency for large-scale documents.
