TDSQL Boundless supports destroying/refunding instances via the console. This article provides information regarding refunds.
Yearly/monthly subscription (Prepaid): TDSQL Boundless does not support a 5-day unconditional full refund for return requests. The remaining value, based on usage, will be returned to your Tencent Cloud account.
Pay-as-you-go (Postpaid): TDSQL Boundless directly terminates resources and no refund can be requested.
The above operations can be performed via self-service return in the console under Instance List > Terminate/Return. Pay-as-you-go is postpaid, where fees are charged based on actual resource usage during settlement and do not involve refunds. The following instructions primarily apply to prepaid clusters for yearly/monthly subscription.

Instructions for Self-Service Return

After a yearly/monthly subscription instance is returned, once its status changes to "isolated", it will no longer incur fees associated with that instance.
Yearly/monthly subscription instances will be moved to the recycle bin of the cloud database for 7 days after self-service return, during which the instances are inaccessible. To restore returned yearly/monthly subscription instances (including clusters), you can renew them for restoration in the recycle bin of the cloud database.
After a yearly/monthly subscription instance is completely destroyed, its IP address resources will be simultaneously released, making the instance inaccessible. If the instance has associated disaster recovery instances, they will disconnect synchronization and be automatically promoted to primary instances.
Promotional rewards channel orders do not currently support self-service refunds. Please submit a ticket to initiate a refund request.
In case of suspected abnormal or malicious returns, Tencent Cloud reserves the right to reject your return request.
Some event resources are not supported for self-service return. See the official website for details.

Standard Self-Service Refund

You can go to the Console to destroy or return the instances to be returned.
For regular self-service returns, the fees for the used portion will be deducted. The refund amount will be returned to your Tencent Cloud account in proportion to the cash and gift amounts used for the original payment.

General Return Policy

Refund amount = current effective order amount + unstarted order amount - used resource value
Current effective order amount: Refers to the payment amount of orders in effect, excluding discounts and vouchers.
Amount of Unstarted Orders: The payment amount for future-effective orders, excluding promo vouchers.
The value of used resources shall be calculated according to the following policies:
The used portion will be deducted at the full-month rate if a full month has been used on the day the refund is requested; otherwise, it will be deducted at the pay-as-you-go rate.
The used portion is calculated precisely to the second.
If the refund amount is less than or equal to 0, it will be calculated as 0, and the resources will be reclaimed.
Note:
Deductions or promo vouchers: Will not be refunded.
Order discount: The discount will be deducted at the original price for the used resources. Only the remaining balance after this deduction is eligible for refund.
That is: Refund amount = discount amount - original price × ratio of usage time
The refund amount will be returned to your Tencent Cloud account in the same proportion as the original payment method (cash and credits used during purchase).
