Operational Scenario
This article describes how to create a passkey for your account. After the passkey is successfully created, you can log in to your Tencent Cloud account by using fingerprints, facial recognition, device PIN, etc. For details, see Logging in with a Passkey. Note:
After creating a passkey under your account, you can still log in with Email or Google
If your account has enabled login protection, using passkey to log in still requires you to complete two-factor authentication
Note
If you use iCloud, Google accounts, or similar methods to synchronize passkeys, ensure the security of your cloud accounts to prevent passkey misuse due to account compromise.
Hardware security keys must be properly stored. If lost, they should be promptly removed to prevent unauthorized use.
Use Limits
A Tencent Cloud root account supports binding up to 5 passkeys. It is recommended to bind them in advance on frequently used devices (e.g., work computers, personal phones) to prevent login issues when switching devices. Additionally, automatic synchronization across multiple devices can be achieved using password or credential managers such as Apple Passwords, Google Password Manager, 1Password, etc.
Passkey names under the same account must be unique to help you distinguish between different devices.
Repeated binding on the same device is not allowed.
Prerequisites
Account requirements: You need to register as a Tencent Cloud user and have a Tencent Cloud account. If you are not registered, please refer to the Signing Up document to register.
