Upgrade Instructions
After purchasing a resource, users can upgrade its configuration during the validity period without changing the resource's expiration date.
Upgrade Discount Instructions
1. The price difference for an upgrade is calculated on a daily basis. Upgrade fee = Monthly price for the new configuration x Upgrade months x Applicable discount for the new configuration - Monthly price for the old configuration x Upgrade months x Applicable discount for the old configuration.
2. The full-month portion of the upgrade months for an upgrade is calculated based on complete months. Any remaining days that do not constitute a full month are prorated based on the number of days in the current month. When the start time and end time fall within the same calendar month, the number of days in the current month is taken as the number of days in the end month. When the start time and end time span across different months, the number of days in the current month is taken as the number of days in the month preceding the end month. Upgrade days = (Resource end time - Current time)/Number of days in the current month.
3. The applicable discounts for the new and old configurations are matched to the official website's applicable discounts based on the upgrade months.
4. The applicable discount is matched downward to the applicable discount (which is the discount currently active on the live network) based on the upgrade days.
Example (For reference only. The actual fee charged prevails.):
A CVM with 1C1G costs USD 65 per month, and the configuration with 2C4G costs USD 218 per month. Assume the following discount for both new and old configurations: no discount for 1–2 months, 20% off for 3–5 months, and 30% off for 6 months.
A user purchased a 6-month yearly/monthly subscription resource at 8:00 AM on June 1, 2025. The resource's start and end time is: 2025-06-01 8:00:00 to 2025-12-01 7:59:59.
The configuration was upgraded from 1C1G to 2C4G on August 15, 2025. The upgrade months are calculated as follows: 3 months from August 15 to November 15, and the remaining 16 days from November 15 to December 1.
At this point, the number of days in the current month is taken as the month preceding the resource end month, which is November. The number of days in that month is 30. Therefore, 16/30 = 0.5333. Consequently, the total upgrade duration is 3 + 0.5333 = 3.5333 months.
Match the discount according to the example of the discount currently active on the official website to enjoy a 20% discount for three months.
Upgrade fee = Monthly price for the new configuration x Upgrade months x Applicable discount for the new configuration - Monthly price for the old configuration x Upgrade months x Applicable discount for the old configuration = 218 x 3.5333 x 0.8 - 65 x 3.5333 x 0.8 = USD 432.48.

The upgrade policy for operational activities is consistent with the policy described above.
