Acceleration Region Overview
The acceleration region is the region closest to an end user, who is given access to Tencent Cloud's Global Accelerator network nearby via the access IP address of the GA acceleration region.
Note:
If the end user's region is not in the list of regions supported by GA, a nearby region can be selected to achieve coverage.
China Unicom (CUCC) provides agency operations for the cross-border segment of Global Accelerator. If there are cross-border elements in the acceleration region and endpoint group, your account needs to pass the Cross-Border Qualification Review. Supported Acceleration Regions

Acceleration IP Address Types
The acceleration IP address types are divided into general BGP IP address and dedicated BGP IP address. You can choose an acceleration IP address type as needed.
General BGP IP address: The multi-line BGP network in China covers more than twenty ISPs (such as the three major ISPs (CTCC/CUCC/CMCC), CERNET (China Education and Research Network), and China Broadcasting Network). The BGP public network egress supports cross-region switching within seconds, ensuring that your users can enjoy high-speed and secure network quality no matter what kind of network they use.
Dedicated BGP IP address: The dedicated line that avoids detours through the egress networks of international ISPs. It has lower latency, which effectively improves the coverage quality of overseas businesses for users in the Chinese mainland.
Note:
General BGP IP address: For the General BGP IP address in Hong Kong (China), Macao (China) and Taiwan (China), and other countries and regions, it is primarily aimed at access initiated outside the Chinese mainland. If you access IP addresses outside the Chinese mainland from within the Chinese mainland, there might be higher latency and packet loss.
Dedicated BGP IP address: With lower latency, it is suitable for business scenarios where users access IP addresses outside the Chinese mainland from within the Chinese mainland, and the users are sensitive to network quality. Currently, the dedicated BGP IP address can only be selected as the access IP address in Hong Kong (China).
Internet Protocol Stack
Currently, only IPv4 protocol access is supported.
Acceleration Region Bandwidth
The acceleration region bandwidth is the upper limit of bandwidth configured when an acceleration region is created. The actual service bandwidth cannot exceed this bandwidth upper limit. The allowable configuration range is from 2 to 10,000 Mbps. If you need to exceed the limit, submit a ticket for consultation. The upper limit of the acceleration region bandwidth is not directly related to billing. The actual business traffic will eventually be counted as the billing basis.
The bandwidth peak value is only used as the maximum upper limit of bandwidth, not as a commitment metric. When there is competition for bandwidth resources, the bandwidth peak value might be restrained.
Adding an Acceleration Region
2. On the instance list page, click the target Instance ID and go to the instance details page.
3. Click Add Acceleration Region on the acceleration region tab.
4. Configure the corresponding information according to the prompts.
Configuration Item | Description |
Region | The created acceleration region. Global Accelerator will create an acceleration IP address in the selected region for end-user access. |
Peak Bandwidth | The maximum service bandwidth peak value that users can reach when accessing Global Accelerator from this region. The bandwidth peak value only determines the service bandwidth upper limit, and is not directly related to the eventual fee. After creation, the fee will be counted based on the actual business traffic. The peak value is in Mbps. Each acceleration region supports a bandwidth range from 2 to 10,000 Mbps for allocation. The bandwidth peak value is only used as the maximum upper limit of bandwidth, not as a commitment metric. When there is competition for bandwidth resources, the bandwidth peak value might be restrained. |
IP Address Protocol | The IP address protocol for end users to access Global Accelerator. Currently, only IPv4 network access is supported. |
Public Network Quality Type | The public network quality type for end users to access Global Accelerator. General BGP: Use Tencent Cloud's general BGP IP address as the access IP address, and give access to lines from multiple ISPs at the same time, ensuring the optimal access quality. Dedicated BGP: Access via ISPs' dedicated public network lines. Compared with general BGP, it offers better access quality for users in the Chinese mainland. When you select Hong Kong (China) as the acceleration region, you can select dedicated BGP as the public network quality type for the acceleration IP address. |
Editing an Acceleration Region
Prerequisites
You have completed the creation of an instance and an acceleration region. You can perform bandwidth edit operations on existing acceleration regions.
Note:
If the modified bandwidth upper limit is lower than the one before modification, it might cause business damage. Proceed with caution.
Operation Guide
2. On the instance list page, click the target Instance ID, go to the instance details page, and click the Acceleration Region tab.
3. Click Edit Bandwidth in the right operation column of an existing acceleration region.
4. Enter the target bandwidth upper limit in the pop-up window and click Confirm.
Deleting an Acceleration Region
Prerequisites
You have completed the creation of an instance and an acceleration region. After an acceleration region is deleted, the corresponding acceleration IP address and bandwidth configuration will be released, and Global Accelerator can no longer provide acceleration services for this region.
Operation Guide
2. On the instance list page, click the target Instance ID, go to the instance details page, and click the Acceleration Region tab.
3. Click Delete in the right operation column of an existing acceleration region.
4. Click Confirm in the pop-up window.
Note:
After an acceleration region is deleted, the acceleration IP address will be released, and the related configuration cannot be recovered. Fully confirm the impact before proceeding.
