Cloud Exchange Introduction
Cloud Exchange (CX) is an ecological community jointly built by the Direct Connect of Tencent Cloud and the CX platform in international/Hong Kong (China), Macao (China), and Taiwan (China) regions to provide interconnection services for customers overseas. Currently, CX offers two modes: Standard Access Mode and One-Stop Access Mode.
Standard Access Mode
In the Standard Access Mode, Tencent Cloud pre-establishes pre-connection resources with the CX platform to help customers with CX platform accounts quickly connect to the cloud. The service boundary on the Tencent side is at the CX platform - Tencent Cloud, which means that the customer needs to access the CX platform or the peer for management and Ops of the peer - CX platform part.
One-Stop Access Mode
In the One-Stop Access Mode, Tencent Cloud pre-establishes pre-connection resources with the CX platform and leverages the CX platform's interconnection resources with the peer cloud to help customers achieve end-to-end interconnection between the peer cloud and Tencent Cloud. This mode is suitable for customers without CX platform accounts. Customers do not need to be aware of the CX platform and can achieve end-to-end interconnection by creating, receiving, and managing resources on Tencent Cloud and the peer cloud platform.
Note:
Tencent Cloud supports end-to-end Ops of the peer cloud - Tencent Cloud. In case of a fault, Tencent Cloud will try its best to assist in end-to-end troubleshooting and cooperate in fault recovery. However, the final maintenance of the CX platform - peer cloud line is the responsibility of the peer cloud or the CX platform.
Note:
Use the dual-line dual-point access mode during access. Tencent Cloud cannot guarantee service availability for other modes.
Only one dedicated tunnel can be created for a single CX instance.
Product Advantages
Multi-Cloud Deployment
The deployment architectures of hybrid cloud and multi-cloud are supported. The collaboration with overseas CX vendors is carried out to connect networks of Tencent Cloud with those of overseas cloud service providers and overseas data centers.
The service downtime in the event of a fault in a single cloud service can be avoided.
A second cloud or data center can be used for disaster recovery.
The interoperability with cloud services from well-known overseas cloud providers like AWS and Microsoft can be enabled to avoid dependence on a single vendor.
Quick Migration to the Cloud
In the traditional access mode, connecting the user's overseas data center to Tencent Cloud involves relatively complex steps, including connecting overseas operations, cabling, and cloud resources VPC. CX is a physical exchange link pre-established jointly by the Direct Connect of Tencent Cloud and overseas CX vendors, with CX vendors as a bridge to connect various major cloud providers.
The building period is short. The inter-cloud interconnection can be completed in 2-3 working days.
The complexity is reduced. You can build Tencent Cloud resources with just one click, sparing you the hassle of tedious configuration.
