Introduction

Tags are markers provided by Tencent Cloud for identifying cloud resources, represented as the key-value. You can use tags to categorize and manage PTS project resources based on various dimensions such as the business, purpose, and owner.
Tags enable you to conveniently filter and select corresponding resources and authorize resources based on tags.
Tag key-value is strictly parsed and matched as a string. Tencent Cloud does not use the tags you set, which are solely for your management of resources.
The following example introduces the usage of tags.

Case Background

A company has 10 cloud projects on Tencent Cloud, which are divided among three operation departments: e-commerce, gaming, and entertainment & culture. These projects meet various business needs such as marketing campaigns, game A, and post-production. The respective department heads for these three departments are Tom, Jerry, and Harry.

Setting Tags

To facilitate management, the company uses tags to categorize and manage the corresponding PTS project resources, defining the following tag keys and values:
Tag Key
Tag Value
Operation department
E-commerce and gaming
Operated products
Advertising marketing center and Moonlight Blade
Level-1 business
Information recommendation platform and game operation platform
Level-2 business
Push stream and spring festival promotion activities
Owner
Tom and Jerry
