What are the components of a deep learning network?

A deep learning network, also known as a deep neural network (DNN), is composed of several layers, each designed to learn hierarchical representations of the data. The main components include:

  1. Input Layer: This is where the raw data enters the network. For example, in an image recognition task, the input layer would receive pixel values of the image.

  4. Activation Functions: These are applied to the outputs of neurons in the hidden layers and sometimes the output layer. They introduce non-linearity into the network, enabling it to learn complex patterns.

  5. Weights and Biases: These are parameters that the network learns during training. Weights determine the strength of connections between neurons, while biases adjust the activation threshold.

  7. Optimizer: This algorithm adjusts the weights and biases to minimize the loss function. Examples include Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), Adam, and RMSprop.
