How to achieve communication between different subnets in a private network?

To achieve communication between different subnets in a private network, you typically use routing. Routers or layer 3 switches are key components that facilitate this communication by forwarding packets between subnets based on their destination IP addresses.

For instance, if you have two subnets, Subnet A (192.168.1.0/24) and Subnet B (192.168.2.0/24), and you want devices in Subnet A to communicate with devices in Subnet B, you would configure a router or a layer 3 switch with routes pointing to both subnets. This way, when a device in Subnet A sends a packet to a destination in Subnet B, the router knows to forward the packet to Subnet B.

In cloud environments, this can be achieved through the use of Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) services. For example, in Tencent Cloud, you can create a VPC and then divide it into multiple subnets across different availability zones. To enable communication between these subnets, you would configure route tables within the VPC, specifying how traffic should be routed between the subnets.

Additionally, you might use VPN connections or dedicated network connections for more secure or higher bandwidth communication between subnets, especially if they are located in different geographic regions.

Tencent Cloud's services like the Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) and Cloud Router can be utilized to set up and manage these connections effectively, ensuring secure and efficient communication between different subnets within a private network.
