Cloud server spot instances are automatically recycled when the cloud provider's system detects that the current market price for spot instances exceeds the price you bid or when there is a sudden increase in demand for regular instances, requiring the spot resources to be reclaimed. This mechanism ensures that regular-paying customers can access resources during peak times.
For example, suppose you bid $0.05 per hour for a spot instance. If the market price rises to $0.06 due to high demand, your spot instance will be terminated and recycled by the system. Another scenario is when a large enterprise suddenly needs more capacity, and the provider reallocates spot resources to meet that need.
To mitigate the impact of spot instance recycling, you can design your applications to be fault-tolerant and stateless, allowing them to quickly recover or restart on new instances. Additionally, you can use auto-scaling groups or monitoring tools to detect interruptions and take preemptive actions.
In the context of Tencent Cloud, you can leverage Spot Instances in conjunction with Auto Scaling to automatically replace terminated instances and maintain service availability. Tencent Cloud also provides Spot Instance Advisory to help you monitor market trends and optimize bidding strategies.
