Are there any charges for accessing each other's Elastic IPs?

Accessing each other's Elastic IPs (EIPs) in a cloud environment typically incurs data transfer charges, depending on the cloud provider's pricing model. These charges are usually based on the amount of data transferred between the EIPs and the direction of the traffic (inbound or outbound).

For example, if you have two virtual machines (VMs) in the same region, and one VM accesses the EIP of the other VM, data transfer fees may apply if the traffic crosses internal network boundaries or leaves the provider's data center.

In Tencent Cloud, data transfer between resources in the same region is generally free if it stays within the internal network. However, if the traffic goes through the public network (e.g., accessing an EIP), standard data transfer fees will apply. Tencent Cloud provides detailed pricing for data transfer in its official documentation.

To minimize costs, you can use private IPs and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) peering for internal communication instead of public EIPs. Tencent Cloud's VPC service allows secure and free data transfer between resources within the same VPC.
