Creating an Instance

This document describes how to create an instance through the TDSQL for MySQL (TDStore engine) console.

Prerequisites

A Tencent Cloud account has been registered with identity verification completed.
To register a Tencent Cloud account: click Sign up for a Tencent Cloud account.

Directions

1. Log in to the TDSQL for MySQL purchase page and select configuration information according to actual needs. After confirming that everything is correct, click Buy Now.
Billing mode: Supports monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go billing.
If your business volume has relatively stable long-term demand, it is recommended to choose the monthly subscription mode.
If your business volume has very unstable demand, it is recommended to choose the pay-as-you-go mode.
Region: Choose the region where you need to deploy TDSQL for MySQL for your business. It is recommended that you choose the region where your CVM resides. The private network is incompatible for cloud products in different regions and a change is not supported after purchase.
Network: Network to which TDSQL for MySQL belongs. It is recommended that you select the VPC in the region where your CVM resides. Otherwise, you cannot connect to your CVM and database through the private network.
Primary Availability Zone: For instances deployed in a multi-availability zone configuration, users can designate a primary availability zone. Once set, the weight of TDStore nodes in this zone will be increased to 99%, meaning 99% of requests will be routed to these nodes for processing. Users may choose not to set a primary availability zone or can cancel/adjust the setting via the console.
Note:
Currently, it is not supported to set the weight of TDStore nodes in the primary availability zone to 100%.
Instance Types: Available in Cluster Edition and Basic Edition.
Cluster Edition: Composed of multiple nodes, it delivers high-performance and highly available database services as a unified cluster, making it suitable for enterprise production environments.
Basic Edition: Consisting of a single node, it provides full database functionality at a lower cost but lacks high availability. This edition is only recommended for individual users to learn and explore product features.
Caution:
The Basic Edition does not support high availability. Enterprise users should not deploy Basic Edition instances in production environments, as this may lead to temporary database service interruptions and impact business operations.
Note:
Basic Edition instances can be upgraded to Cluster Edition via the console after creation; however, Cluster Edition instances cannot be downgraded to Basic Edition once deployed.
Cluster Architecture: Available in Peer Architecture and Disaggregated Architecture.
Peer Architecture: Combines the compute layer (SQL Engine) and data layer (TDStore) into a single physical node, reducing hardware node count and cross-node communication to lower costs and improve performance.
Disaggregated Architecture: Deploys the compute layer (SQL Engine) and data layer (TDStore) on separate physical nodes.
Storage Type: Options include General Purpose SSD Cloud Storage, Enhanced SSD Cloud Storage, and Local SSD Storage.
General Purpose SSD Cloud Storage: Tencent Cloud's entry-level all-flash block storage solution, offering cost-effectiveness for basic database services with moderate performance requirements.
Enhanced SSD Cloud Storage: Designed with Tencent Cloud's next-gen storage engine, this NVMe SSD-based storage type leverages high-performance network infrastructure, ideal for mid-to-large databases and I/O-intensive scenarios with low-latency demands.
Local SSD Storage: Built on local NVMe SSDs, it delivers ultra-high IOPS and throughput, tailored for large-scale high-performance relational databases and I/O-heavy workloads.
