The billing items for TDSQL Boundless include memory and CPU fees for instance nodes (that is, fees for node specifications), storage space for instance nodes, and value-added services (such as backup space and Database Audit, and so on). This document describes the pricing details for TDSQL Boundless.
Billing Instructions
Note:
Value-added services are billed separately and are independent of the node specifications and fees for storage space for the instance.
Total Cost = Node memory and CPU fees × number of nodes + fees for node storage space × number of nodes + fees for backup storage space (currently not charged) + Database Audit fees (currently not charged)
TDSQL Boundless uses a peer-to-peer architecture (HyperNode) design. Each instance includes peer nodes and management nodes by default, and you can enable CDC nodes on demand. Node fees consist of two parts: memory and CPU fees (that is, node specification fees) and node storage space fees.
Memory and CPU fees: These fees are charged based on the billing mode, according to the node specification and the number of nodes purchased by the user. The provisioned resource mode supports yearly/monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go billing. The Serverless mode supports pay-as-you-go billing based on CCU (Cloud Computing Unit).
Storage space fees: These fees are charged based on the billing mode, according to the storage space and the number of nodes purchased by the user. The provisioned resource mode supports yearly/monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go billing. The Serverless mode supports pay-as-you-go billing.

Serverless Pricing
Note:
CCU (Cloud Computing Unit) is the billing unit for computing resources in Serverless. One CCU is approximately equivalent to the computing resources of one CPU and 2 GB of memory. The optional computing power range is from 1 CCU to 16 CCU.
In the Serverless mode, computing and storage resources are billed separately: computing resources are billed based on the number of CCUs, storage resources are billed based on usage in GB, and the billing system charges by the second.
Resource scaling range (CCU): You can set a CCU elasticity range when purchasing an instance. The Serverless instance automatically adjusts CCUs within this range based on node computing resource utilization.
The storage medium for Serverless instances is Enhanced SSD CBS. The storage specification automatically scales out as usage increases. Automatic scale-in is not currently supported. Scaling out results in an increase in the corresponding fees.
The Serverless mode does not support disabling the automatic scaling-out feature. This is a core design of the Serverless architecture, where disks automatically expand as data grows.
Note:
The storage space for Serverless instances currently supports only automatic scale-out and does not support automatic scale-in.
Horizontal scaling of the number of nodes is not currently supported for Serverless instances.
Serverless instances do not currently support complete shutdown or automatic suspension.

Value-Added Services Pricing
Price of Backup Space
Backup space is temporarily free of charge.
Pricing for Database Audit
Database Audit records database access and SQL statement execution, helping enterprises control risks and improve data security. You are charged for this feature only after you enable Database Audit. During the public beta of Database Audit, no fees are charged.
After commercialization, Database Audit will be billed based on the following dimensions. Specific unit prices are subject to the official commercialization announcement.

Billing Examples
In the Beijing region, purchase 1 TDSQL Boundless instance for a duration of 1 month (prepaid billing mode for monthly subscription). The specifications are as follows:
Peer node specification: 2 vCPU cores, 4 GB memory, 100 GB Enhanced SSD CBS, with a total of 2 nodes.
The fees to be paid are calculated as follows:
Instance cost = Node memory and CPU fees × number of nodes + Node storage space fees × number of nodes = (2 × 8.2 + 4 × 2.1) × 2 + (100 × 0.067) × 2 = USD 63.
