Monitoring and Alarm Overview

Monitoring and alarms are essential components for maintaining databases and providing reliability, availability, and performance support for troubleshooting solutions. You can use monitoring to understand the resource utilization, performance, and operational status of your TDSQL Boundless database. Alarms enable you to promptly detect and handle unexpected incidents, thereby improving your system's stability, enhancing Ops efficiency, and reducing Ops costs.
The TDSQL Boundless console provides you with a visual monitoring and alarms page. It supports a wide range of performance monitoring metrics and convenient monitoring features to help you understand your database's operational status and performance. Based on the alarm rules you configure, it also helps you stay informed of business exceptions in real time via message notifications. This enables you to fully manage your database's resource usage and operational status without requiring additional development.

Concepts

Metric
A metric is a core concept in monitoring. It represents a time-ordered collection of data points sent to the monitoring system. You can search for statistical data about these data points by time series. As a variable in monitoring, metric data represents the value of that variable over time. Examples include CPU utilization and memory utilization.
Unit
A unit is the measurement unit for a metric's raw data. For example, the unit for CPU utilization is %.
Time Granularity
Time granularity is the interval length for monitoring statistics. Each timestamped data point represents the result of aggregating all collected data based on the specified granularity.
Alarm
Alarm Management is a feature of Tencent Cloud Monitor. It triggers alarms for abnormal conditions on cloud resources and provides capabilities for viewing alarm information, customizing alarm thresholds, and subscribing to alarms.
