Billing Rule Change Notice on Advanced Image Compression Feature

Dear user,
We will change the usage calculation method and billing rules for CI's advanced image compression feature, effective August 1, 2023 (Beijing time). The details are as follows:

Usage calculation method

Usage is calculated by the number of calls, regardless of the image specification.
Usage is calculated by the number of calls for each image specification, which is defined based on image resolution as follows:
Small image: Resolution ≤ 800 x 600
Medium image: 800 x 600 < Resolution ≤ 1920 x 1080
Large image: 1920 x 1080 < Resolution ≤ 4096 x 2160
Extra large image: Resolution > 4096 × 2160

Billing rules

After the change, the system will charge you by image specification according to different weighting factors for the advanced image compression feature. The billing cycle is still monthly billing. The detailed billing rules are as follows:

Billing example

The following example helps you better understand the billing rule changes.
Assume that you used advanced image compression (AVIF) 800,000 times last month, with 600,000 times for small images and 200,000 times for medium images.

Fees (After)
800 (thousand times) x 0.045 (USD/1,000 times) = 36 USD
600 (thousand times) x 0.045 (USD/1,000 times) x 0.1 (factor) + 200 (thousand times) x 0.045 (USD/1,000 times) x 0.3 (factor) = 5.4 USD
