Terminated instances will be put into the recycle bin and can be restored.

Background

Tencent Cloud recycle bin offers a mechanism for repossessing cloud resources. If your account balance is sufficient, you can restore terminated instances that are still in the recycle bin.

Version description

Currently, all TencentDB for SQL Server versions support instance repossession.

Notes

The introduction of instance reclaiming for different billing modes is as follows:
Yearly/Monthly subscription instances enter the recycle bin:
Retention period: Instances are retained for 7 natural days in the recycle bin.
Expiration handling: If the instances are not renewed within 7 natural days, the resources will be released by the system and cannot be recovered.
Pay-as-you-go instances enter the recycle bin:
Scenario 1: The account is not in arrears.
Retention period: Instances proactively terminated by users are retained for 24 hours in the recycle bin in the case of no arrears.
Expiration handling: If instances are not renewed on time, the instance resources will be released by the system after 24 hours and cannot be recovered.
Scenario 2: The account is in arrears.
Retention period: When an instance enters the recycle bin due to arrears, it is retained for 7 natural days in the recycle bin.
Expiration handling: If instances are not renewed on time, the instance resources will be released by the system after 7 natural days and cannot be recovered.

Prerequisites

Your Tencent Cloud account balance is sufficient.

5. In the pop-up dialog box, click OK.

Eliminating an instance

2. On the left sidebar, select SQL Server > Recycle Bin.
3. Select the region at the top of the recycle bin page.
4. Find the target instance and click Eliminate Now in its Operation column.
5. In the pop-up window, confirm the instance information and click OK.
Note:
The instance will be completely eliminated, and its data will not be recoverable. Therefore, you need to back up the data in advance.
