Storage resource units are prepaid (yearly/monthly subscription) discount packages for different sub-products and billable items in Cloud File Storage (CFS). They cover all billable items of all CFS sub-projects (Standard, High-Performance, Standard Turbo, High-Performance Turbo, High-Throughput, and CFS snapshots).
Strengths
Applicable to all CFS billable items for easier management
Compared with a traditional resource package for a single product/billable item, a storage resource unit applies to a wider scope. It allows you to purchase and manage resource packages in an easier way if multiple CFS sub-products and billable items are involved.
Cumulative and flexible
Storage resource units are cumulative, making them more flexible.
Automatic deduction for multiple instances for more flexible use
Storage resources units can be deducted for all file system instances, reducing the complexity of managing them.
Purchase notes
Storage resource units can be deducted for all billable items involved in all regions where CFS services are available. They apply to the Tencent Cloud Chinese site only.
Storage resource units are prepaid and take effect immediately upon purchase.
The portion of a storage resource unit not used in a cycle cannot be carried forward to the next cycle.
Storage resource units are cumulative. If you purchase multiple storage resource units at a time, their specs will be accumulated, but the validity periods will not.
After storage resource units expire or are used up, your CFS-related usage will be automatically billed in pay-as-you-go mode.
While storage resource units are valid, bills will be settled in the sequence of "storage resource unit > pay-as-you-go mode". Usage exceeding the capacities of storage resource units will be billed using the pay-as-you-go mode.
If an account has overdue payments (with an account balance less than 0), CFS services will be suspended immediately, regardless of whether there are valid storage resource units.
Storage resource units and Standard resource packages do not conflict. They can be used cumulatively. We recommend you choose storage resource units. Standard resource packages will be gradually phased out.
Deduction description
Rules
The usages of all CFS billable items will be pushed based on their peak values in an hour, and available storage resource units will be deducted accordingly. The usages exceeding the capacities of storage resource units will be billed in pay-as-you-go mode. Each billable item will consume the corresponding quota of the storage resource unit based on the unit price of the billable item in pay-as-you-go mode.
For example, the pay-as-you-go unit price of the storage usage of High-Performance CFS in the Chinese mainland is 0.23 USD/GB/month (0.00031944 USD/GB/hour), and 23 U storage resource units can fully cover a 100 GB High-Performance instance. You can choose the validity period of the units as needed.
Deduction details
After storage resource units are purchased, there is a quota for the number of storage resource units available for deduction each hour, and the deduction will be at the same rate as the one-month price for that type of product in pay-as-you-go mode.

Deduction priority
The deduction priority for different product types is as follows:
Standard > High-Performance > Standard Turbo > High-Performance Turbo > High-Throughput >> Snapshots
Note:
The priority is based only on sub-product types. It does not apply to billable items or regions.
Accumulation
CFS storage resource units are cumulative. The validity of multiple storage resource units purchased at a time is as follows:
Assume that you purchase two storage resource units on August 15, 2022, in the following specs, respectively: 300 U, 3-month validity, and immediate effect; 100 U, 6-month validity, and immediate effect:
