Tencent Cloud TDMQ for RocketMQ provides two flexible billing modes: yearly/monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go. The billing rules and applicable scenarios of different billing modes vary. You can choose the optimal billing solution based on your business scale, usage period, and cost budget to achieve the best balance between resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.

Product Series

TDMQ for RocketMQ provides two product series: 5.x clusters and 4.x clusters, to meet the needs of different business scenarios.

Billing mode

TDMQ for RocketMQ supports two billing modes: yearly/monthly subscription (prepaid) and pay-as-you-go (postpaid). The differences between the billing modes are as follows:

Pay as you go (Postpaid)
Billing overview
Select specified specifications and prepay for a certain period before you can use the resources.
Select specified specifications to create an instance and pay after using the resources.
Billing cycle
Billed based on the purchased duration of the order.
Settled by hour, with daily deductions. Usage less than one hour is rounded up to one hour.
Scenario
Suitable for scenarios with stable business scale and long-term usage, offering discounted pricing to help reduce long-term costs.
Suitable for short-term scenarios such as testing or uncertain traffic peaks, billed based on actual usage to avoid idle resource wastage.
Changing the billing mode
Only 5.x clusters support changing to the pay-as-you-go billing mode.
Only 5.x clusters support changing to the yearly/monthly subscription billing mode.
After you complete testing for a pay-as-you-go instance, if you need to continue using it, you can change the billing mode to yearly/monthly subscription for long-term usage.

Billable Items

For TDMQ for RocketMQ clusters, the billable items for yearly/monthly subscription and pay-as-you-go modes are basically the same. The following parts describe the specific billable items.

Billable Items of 5.x Clusters

The total fees of a 5.x cluster are calculated based on the following formula:
Total cluster fees = Computing configuration fee + Storage configuration fee + Additional topic fee + Public network bandwidth fee = TPS specification x TPS unit price + Elastic TPS size x Unit price of elastic TPS + Storage specification x Storage unit price + Additional topic quantity x Topic unit price + Public network bandwidth size x Unit price of public network bandwidth.


Billable Items of 4.x Exclusive Clusters

The total fees of a TDMQ for RocketMQ 4.x exclusive cluster are calculated based on the following formula:
Total cluster fee = Initial configuration fee + Computing configuration fee + Storage configuration fee + Additional topic fee + Public network bandwidth fee = Initial configuration price + Node quantity x Unit price of the node specifications + Storage specification x Storage unit price + Additional topic quantity x Topic unit price + Public network bandwidth size x Unit price of public network bandwidth.



Billable Items of 4.x General Clusters

The total fees of a TDMQ for RocketMQ 4.x general cluster are calculated based on the following formula:
Total cluster fees = Computing configuration fee + Storage configuration fee + Additional topic fee + Public network bandwidth fee = TPS specification x TPS unit price + Storage specification x Storage unit price + Additional topic quantity x Topic unit price + Public network bandwidth size x Unit price of public network bandwidth.



Billable Items of 4.x Virtual Clusters (Discontinued)

The total fees of a TDMQ for RocketMQ 4.x virtual cluster are calculated based on the following formula:
Total cluster fees = API call fee (Fee for calling the message sending API + Fee for calling the message consumption API) + Topic resource usage fee
