Challenges & Goals
Agora runs its core operations—including sales, human resources, finance, and accountability—on Protheus ERP from TOTVS. To validate Tencent Cloud’s performance before expanding to other clients, Agora was selected as the pilot project. This implementation served as Tencent Cloud’s first business case with the partner, using a critical production workload as the benchmark.
Agora’s Protheus system was previously hosted on another cloud provider. Migrating such a vital system to a new cloud provider posed significant risks. The decision hinged on Tencent Cloud’s ability to deliver consistent performance, reliability, and responsive local support.
Why Tencent Cloud
Tencent Cloud’s competitive pricing played a key role in winning the project. More importantly, its close and proactive support helped build trust during the transition. Tencent quickly proved to be a reliable partner, enabling a smooth migration and stable operations for Agora’s mission-critical ERP system.
The seamless migration of Agora’s infrastructure to Tencent Cloud was a defining success; it proved that moving to a more powerful, global platform does not have to be a monumental task—it can be a truly effortless upgrade.
Highlighted Benefits
By migrating its Protheus ERP system to Tencent Cloud, Agora achieved a 30% reduction in cloud infrastructure costs compared to its previous provider. In addition to the cost savings, the company benefited from enhanced system stability, responsive local support, and a smooth transition process.
