Note:
Prepaid yearly/monthly subscription: For refund requests, each account entity is eligible for an unconditional full refund within five days of purchasing an instance. Any additional refund requests are processed as non-full refunds.
Postpaid by hour: Resources are immediately returned, and refunds cannot be applied for. Any frozen fees will be unfrozen and returned to your Tencent Cloud account according to the Freezing Rules.
If you encounter any issues during the refund process, you may submit a ticket for assistance.
To enhance your experience with TDMQ for CKafka (CKafka), self-service returns and refunds are supported if you are unsatisfied with your yearly/monthly subscription instance after purchase.

Five-day Unconditional Full Refund

CKafka complies with Instruction on Refunds for Cloud Services of Tencent Cloud. Each account entity is eligible for an unconditional full refund within five days (inclusive) of successful delivery of a newly purchased CKafka instance. The refund rules are as follows:
Each account entity may request an unconditional full refund for only one prepaid yearly/monthly subscription instance.
For orders eligible for a five-day unconditional full refund, the refund amount is the total amount consumed at the time of purchase, including funds from the cash account, revenue transfer account, and gift account. For the specific refund policies, see Five-day Unconditional Full Refund.
Coupons or promo vouchers are non-refundable. The refund amount is fully returned to your Tencent Cloud account balance.
Instances whose billing mode has been switched from pay-as-you-go to yearly/monthly subscription do not support a five-day unconditional return.
If you need to return an instance purchased as part of a promotional campaign, and the refund policy conflicts with the campaign policy, the campaign policy shall prevail.
Tencent Cloud reserves the right to reject refund requests in cases of suspected abnormal or malicious return activities.

Non-Full Refund

For refund requests that do not meet the five-day unconditional refund policy, the following rules apply:
If you have already used the five-day unconditional full refund policy, other instances can be returned through the self-service return process. For standard self-service returns, the refund will be issued to your Tencent Cloud account based on the proportion of cash and free credits used during the original purchase.
Refund amount = Payment amount - (Usage duration/Total duration) x Discount applied to the original order price
Usage duration less than one day is calculated as a full day. The applicable discount is determined based on the usage duration and the current system discount tier.
For specific examples of refund rules, see Self-service Refund Example.
After a self-service refund of a yearly/monthly subscription instance, the instance will be retained in an isolated status for 7 days, and the data and configurations stored in the instance will not be deleted.
During this period, you can manually renew the instance. After renewal, the instance will recover to its normal status. After 7 days, the instance will be deleted, and all configurations will be cleared and cannot be recovered.
If you need to return an instance purchased as part of a promotional campaign, and the refund policy conflicts with the campaign policy, the campaign policy shall prevail.
Tencent Cloud reserves the right to reject refund requests in cases of suspected abnormal or malicious return activities.

Non-Full Refund Examples

Note:
The following prices are for reference only and may not match those on our official website. Actual billing prices are subject to change based on region, promotions, or other policies.

Background

A user purchased a CKafka instance in the Guangzhou region with a specification of 40 MB/s, using a USD 20 promo voucher for a one-month purchase with an annual subscription with a 17% discount.
Discounted amount: 213.572 x 0.83 = USD 177.265
Payment amount: 177.265 - 20 = USD 157.265

Five-day Unconditional Self-Service Refund

If the user is not satisfied within 5 days of purchase and requests a refund, this will be the first refund for the account.
Refund amount = Actual payment amount = USD 157.265

Non-Full Refund

After 10 days of purchase, with a total usage duration of 241 hours, and since this is not the first refund for the account, the USD 100 promo voucher used during purchase is non-refundable.
Refund amount = Actual payment amount - Value of used resources = 157.265 - (241/720) x 157.265 = USD 104.625

Downgrade Refund

Instance downgrade follows the refund before repurchase principle. That is, Downgrade refund amount = Refund for resource return - Fee for purchasing new resources.
Promo vouchers and discounts used for purchasing products are non-refundable. Refunds for payments made via non-coupon methods (cash/free credits/cash vouchers) will be credited proportionally back to the payer's Tencent Cloud account using the original payment methods.
Note:
The fee for purchasing cash vouchers is non-refundable. For orders paid with cash vouchers, the equivalent voucher amount will be refunded proportionally to the payer's Tencent Cloud account based on the original payment.
Resource return refund: The refund amount is calculated based on the non-full refund rules.
Fee for purchasing new resources: This fee is calculated based on the prices of new resources and the discount (matching the current discount in the system).

Refund Methods

You can perform self-service operations to delete or return the instance in the corresponding CKafka console. The system will automatically initiate a refund and delete or return associated resources. For specific operations, see Deleting/Returning an Instance.
