NVIDIA GPU instances can function properly only after the driver is installed. Depending on whether your workload is compute or rendering, you must select the appropriate driver type and installation method. Tencent Cloud provides multiple installation options, allowing you to deploy drivers either during instance creation or after the instance is created, based on your specific needs. This helps ensure normal operation of the Cloud GPU Service and delivers more efficient compute and rendering performance.
Deploy the free Tesla Driver and CUDA SDK for general computing scenarios such as deep learning and scientific computing.
Deploy the GRID Driver with a paid license to enable GPU capabilities for OpenGL or DirectX graphical acceleration.

GPU Driver Selection Guide

Note:
1. NVIDIA GPU instance types include GPU passthrough instances (full/physical GPU) and vGPU instances (fractional GPU, for example 1/4 GPU).
Physical passthrough GPUs can use the Tesla driver to support computing scenarios or the GRID driver to enable rendering scenarios.
vGPUs can only use specific versions of the GRID driver to support different scenarios.
2. For NVIDIA Rendering Instances, Tencent Cloud provides a GRID driver license. If you choose to use Computing Instances for rendering scenarios, you need to go to the NVIDIA official website to purchase a License.
