This document describes how to migrate a TDMQ for RabbitMQ virtual cluster to a TDMQ for RabbitMQ exclusive cluster.
Step 1. Purchase an exclusive cluster
In the TDMQ for RabbitMQ console, click Create Cluster to create an exclusive cluster. After you purchase the cluster, go to the cluster details page, and you can get the following addresses:
Web console access address: You need to provide the egress IP address of your public network or IDC and add it to the security group allowlist so that you can access the web console via this IP address.
Public network domain name access address: This address can be used for local development and debugging.
VPC access address: This address is used to access the production environment over the private network.
Step 2. Migrate the client in double-read double-write mode
Modify client configurations and restart the client as follows:
1. In the initial stage, all reads and writes are performed in the virtual cluster, and the exclusive cluster gets ready for migration.
2. Launch consumers into the exclusive cluster and enable the double-read mode.
3. Launch producers into the exclusive cluster with partial incoming traffic and enter the double-read double-write mode.
4. Stop the production traffic of the virtual cluster with consumers retained and enter the single-write double-read mode.
5. Check and ensure that there are no heaped messages in the virtual cluster before bringing consumers offline to complete the migration.
Step 3. Check metrics after migration
After the migration is completed, check cluster metrics, especially those involving message input, output, and heap.
